Mermaid

Mermaid  is a mysterious little story that I'm writing currently.  It's based on Japanese artwork, manga, where I borrowed some names and such.  In fact, I can't really take credit for this story, either, since it's so similar to a manga I love, Cardcaptor Sakura. You might think that Mermaid and the next story on the list, Ariel, are similar.  Well, sort of.  Mermaids and all.  But otherwise, they have nothing much in common.  Mermaid  is also written in first person, like the Hunger Games.
So what's the deal with this story?  Here's the summary. BEWARE OF SPOILERS!

Kotone is a girl (Japanese-style) who goes to school everyday with her best friend Syaoran.  It's the beginning of the school year, autumn, and Kotone meets new friends.  She especially enjoys Swimming class.  Soon enough, though, she realizes there's something different about her.  She keeps seeing girls in strange places--a bowl of water, a pool, a fracture on a pond surface.  It turns out these girls are mermaids, free after their master, the Waterlord, passed on.  Kotone takes up duty as the new Waterlord, and sets to regather all the mermaids.  Yet something's not right.  They keep telling her something's wrong.  It's only then Kotone is aware that as a volcano explodes, she must use her newfound mermaid partners to save her town.  Up against a Fire Lord and and an army of Flagrivirgin (fire mermaids), Kotone realizes that she herself has potential to reunite enemies, and bring peace to the world beneath.

Please note that this is a story I started a long time ago and have not edited.  Sorry if there are grammatical errors.  Like the Shadow Kingdom, the mermaids have their special page, in which they completely dominate and leave  no room for me to fix their site.  So don't blame me if they say something inappropriate...especially someone with high self-esteem like Whirlpool.  Still I hope you enjoy...their turf is a click-on right here.  As for the emails that you can click on in the story...they lead to nowhere.  I personally made sure there were no email sites with those names.
However, due to my new abilities, I can post their story here.  Just note that the mermaids' place has much more than just their story, so you might want to check it out.
     Enjoy your new reading experience!
